Masked deception

Masks are ways
To hide underneath
One's true being
Concealed by sheath

Masks hide reality
Emotions hidden
Eyes covered over
Can cloak deception

Masks may also be ways
To protect or to hide
As taking them off
Bares what is inside

Removing a mask

To see what's behind
Set to flow freely
No longer confined

Open and honest

No longer mysterious
Mask's spirit liberated
Exposed and less serious
